Get Your Project Moving, Even in Lockdown

Time To Get Your Project Off The Starting Blocks

Are you staring at the same four walls dreaming of an update? Is your project on hold while we’re stuck in Lockdown? Here are a few things you can be doing to get prepared for when the restrictions are lifted and we can get back on track.

1.Think about your room

Which room do you want to change and why? Is it a complete overhaul such as replacing a whole kitchen or is it something less daunting like a replacement floor?

Either way, take some time to stand in your room and think about the practicalities and how you use the room. Maybe you need more storage or more floor space. Maybe the room needs more light or an area for home-working.

2.Research your project

The internet is a wonderful place to gather inspiration. Pinterest and Instagram are great visual mediums to gain ideas and to discover what options are out there. For inspiration on kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, flooring and paint, head on over to the 4homes Inspiration pages where you’ll find tons of great ideas.

3.Measure & photograph your room

Under normal circumstances, our designers would visit your property to discuss your plans as well as take measurements and photographs. If you want to get ahead of the game you can do the measuring and photographing yourself. You don’t have to know where everything is going to go, that’s what we’re here for!

Previous blog posts outline step by step guides on how to measure and the important things to photograph to ensure you have captured all the vital information.

4.Contact us!

Once you have all your information, contact your local showroom who can add you to their client list. They will then contact you to make an appointment as soon as they are able to do so.

For those living in the East Devon area, we will be happy for you to send us your plans and pictures. We can also discuss your requirements either by telephone or face to face on a virtual chat.

5.Imediate projects

If you’re handy with a paintbrush or wish to flex your DIY muscles during lockdown, there are some projects you can be getting on with right now.

Flooring

Click Flooring is an easy to fit floor with just a few basic tools required. This LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) is a little more flexible than laminate flooring and was created with the competent DIYer in mind. There are many styles and colours to choose from in a range of wood effect or tile effect finishes.
