National Trust Papers by Little Greene

NEW National Trust Papers Collection

The brand new collection of National Trust Papers has been launched by Little Greene & we love the new vibrant patterns and colours.

Each design is based on an original fragment of wallpaper found in various National Trust properties. Because of that, they have been named after the house in which they were found. The collection comprises of seven designs with 40 colourways so there is something to suit every taste and every wall.

National Trust Murals

Two of the designs consist of stand-out murals featuring juxtaposing scenes. Firstly, Belton Scenic is a classic piece of 18th century Chinoiserie. Secondly, Achillea is an elegant Art Nouveau floral design.

Because of the elongated patterns continuing over several drops, these mural papers would be perfectly placed in hallways or in rooms with minimal furniture to show off their unique beauty.

Colourful Patterns

The other five patterns are a mixture of traditional design periods, including Arts and Crafts and a rare, early Georgian paisley print. Strikingly bold birds, plants and flowers are still firm favourites, in keeping with all Little Greene collections. The colours vary from vibrant brights to muted tones, while all coordinate perfectly with the Little Greene paint colour palette.

Manufacturing

As with all Little Greene wallpapers the manufacturing process includes traditional methods of surface printing, dating back to the industrial revolution. This is combined with modern digital techniques to allow for the printing of large scale designs and repeat patterns. For instance, this piece shows the original section of Belton Scenic which has been refined to remove some of the characters. As a result, the pattern is simplified for today’s more modest homes, but just as striking.
